Spring Free Fleet App – FAQs

  • Click create new account or sign-in with Google. Please follow the instructions to sign-in for the first time and accept Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
  • Click on the ‘Forgot password’ link on the sign-in screen. Follow the instructions in the prompt to retrieve your password via the email associated with your account.
  • Spring Free EV aims to accelerate the adoption of electric cars to maximize our positive impact on climate change. We hope you’ll choose to grow your fleet with us using our flexible financing options. For our existing customers, we aim to equip you with the tools you need to manage and grow your business.
  • By combining the EV’s advanced telematics system with Spring Free’s integrations, we can track the health of our assets and bill per mile. We are offering our system to help you manage your fleet and remotely control vehicles. We believe OTA telematics and remote commands usher in a new class of service for electric fleet managers.
  • On the Trips screen, you should see a button to click to “Connect a car sharing platform.” From here, enter your Turo and/or Hyrecar username & password. Follow the instructions if prompted with 2-factor authentication.
  • Alternatively, click on Settings, Sharing platforms, and connect Turo and/or Hyrecar by signing in with your host credentials. You have successfully linked your account(s) to view vehicles, bookings, and customer messages cross-platform.
  • Click on the Cars tab, followed by the ‘+’ icon to connect one or more vehicles via Smartcar. Smartcar Connect relies on the connected services account associated with your vehicle(s). This enables the Spring Free Fleet app to access telematics and remote car commands for your fleet.

  • You can still access the app’s customer messaging and business features even if your vehicles are not equipped with wireless connectivity.
  • We are actively working to support additional telematics integrations, including popular OBD-II devices. Have a telematics integration you’d like us to make? Email support@springfreeev.com with subject: “Spring Free Fleet App – Telematics”
  • Open the app and click on the Business tab at the bottom and navigate to Tolls.
  • Or, go to Settings, Toll providers, and select an operator from the list to connect.
  • Link your toll device account by signing in with the same username & password you use to sign into your toll account.
  • Today our MVP supports limited toll operators (California FasTrak, NY & NJ EZ-Pass). Have a toll operator you’d like us to add? Email support@springfreeev.com with subject: “Spring Free Fleet App – Tolls”
  • Spring Free EV does not save your Personally Identifiable Information (PII)… in accordance with our company Privacy Notice and mobile app Terms of Service.
  • At any time, you can delete your account and all information tied to your account by clicking on Settings > My Profile > Delete Profile, or emailing us at support@springfreeev.com, subject: “Spring Free Fleet app – delete profile”
  • Email us at support@springfreeev.com with subject: “Spring Free Fleet App – delete account” or within the app, click on Settings, My profile, Delete profile.
  • When replying to customers, we’ve introduced a few text templates that you can choose from for repetitive messaging, such as welcome, pick-up, and return.
  • In the future, you’ll be able to edit and add templates and set rules or schedules to auto-send messages.
  • Within the app, click on Settings and Add EVs to your fleet. Fill in the brief in-take form and a Spring Free EV Account Executive will be in touch with you shortly.

  • Turo notifications are supported today. 
  • Soon we will support common vehicle notifications, such as diagnostic or safety alerts.
  • Trips will show your upcoming requests, booked or scheduled trips (renters) and past trip history based on your linked accounts (Turo and/or Hyrecar).
  • “Trips” is synonymous with “bookings” and should be used as a tool to accept/decline and manage new booking requests from customers.
  • New customer messages received will be aggregated here. You can reply to customers the same way you would on your Turo app or Hyrecar host account.
  • Messages will be empty until you connect a car sharing platform through which customers will connect with you.
  • Vehicles that you have listed on Turo and/or Hyrecar will show up here with the logo of which platform(s) they’re listed. 
  • Click on each car in the list – or click on the ‘+’ icon to connect your OEM app via Smartcar. Connected cars will show you live telematics and offer remote commands, such as lock/unlock for keyless entry.
  • Simply click on the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the Cars screen to add a new one.
  • You can also view and edit car details by clicking in the ellipsis, followed by Details.
  • Click on the ellipsis, followed by Details.
  • Within the car details screen, you can edit the car name and add/remove toll devices (transponders).
  • At this time, the license plate and listing location are not editable within the app.
  • In the Business section, Earnings shows your monthly payouts from connected platforms in one place. 
  • You can look back to the previous year to gauge historical performance and filter by vehicles to see which makes/models are performing the best.
  • From the Cars section, click on the Map icon to see your vehicle in relation to nearby public charging stations. 
  • Soon, we will be incorporating a search feature for EV charging into the Fleet app. Until then, we recommend downloading the Plugshare app or using Google Maps search “EV charger near me.”
  • Spring Free EV has also partnered with Bluedot to provide seamless access and one low-fixed price to charge at multiple public networks. Get in touch with us for an exclusive Spring Free + Bluedot sign-up bonus.
  • No, Spring Free does not offer personal or commercial fleet insurance at this time. 
  • However, we expect to announce new partnerships / products in the near future to better meet your insurance needs.

  • For installation of a Level 2 home / garage charging unit, we recommend Treehouse.pro (insert SFEV specific link).
  • In the next quarter, we will be releasing a web dashboard to view your fleet health and analyze telematics data.
